Q: I have purchased the Professional Mediator. When I try to Merge or Print the data I typed in to the calculator it doesn't appear formatted. How do I get to the the right templates?
You may have redirected the installation of the Professional Mediator to a different folder OR your Microsoft(TM) Word files are redirected. Here's how to fix this problem:
1. Once you select Merge Into Word Document, a new window will open (Open a Mediator ROI Word Document).
2. Make sure the "Look in:" window is directed to local disk (C:) >>> Program Files >>> Paul Weyland >>> Mediator Professional >>> Proposals
3. Select one of the five templates offered (use the Breakeven templates if you do not have a Gross Profit Margin for that business category).
4. Notice your data populating the template! You should not have to redirect your ROI merge to the Proposals folder again, from this point on.
Q: I have downloaded Mediator to my iPAQ. When I try to open the file the screen says:
"The application you have launched requires Microsoft eMbedded Visual Basic Runtime to be installed.
To download the required files, please tap here."
When I do this, it takes me www.microsoft.com home page. I do a search for the "eMbedded Visual Basic Runtime" and it never comes up. I was wondering if you could send me a direct link to what I need to download to get Mediator to work. Any help or assistance would be great.
A: This is one of the new “features”. VB runtime libraries are not included in the ROM image; you have to install them manually. From Microsoft’s website, you can download binaries for installing directly on the device, transfer them to the device over ActiveSync and execute.
There used to be an easily accessible site for a fix, however HP/Compaq decided to remove this convenience. Instead, I will provide numbers to call for your iPAQ support: HP 1-650-857-1501 and Compaq iPAQ support 1-800-652-6672.
Q: I tried to download The Desktop Sales Manager and got a message saying that I needed to download Microsoft .net. first. What to do?
A: VERY IMPORTANT!!! Many of our software products are developed using the new Microsoft .net framework. .net is a new Windows-wide industry standard that will be used for all new software developed
using Windows-based technology -- we just happen to be on the forefront of development. You will notice on the software page of our webstore that we have a version of .net that will work with our hand-held software products.
We will now add the version of .net that coincides with the desktop/notebook version of our software. The .net should be downloaded BEFORE downloading our software products (except the FREE version of The Mediator). You will need to download .net one time only for your desktop/laptop and one time
for your Windows-based hand-held for the life of your computer or operating system. .net will be required to download the Professional Mediator.
Q: How do I come up with a CUME number to plug into The Mediator(TM)?
A: Before you use your Mediator, explain to your advertising client that your company has X thousand of weekly listeners, viewers or readers. Include every single one of those weekly
listeners, viewers or readers in that CUME number. Explain that it is, of course, theoretically and physically impossible to reach every one of the people who use your medium. To do that you would
have to run the same spot or ad every minute of every hour of every day of that week, or on every single page of our publication. Nobody would pay much attention to a publication or a radio or
television station that did nothing but run the same spot or ad with no other content in between. In other words, make it clear to your client that WE'RE NOT TRYING TO REACH EVERYBODY.
Only a percentage of those people who will buy the client's product or service from somebody THIS WEEK.
Q: I downloaded The Mediator(TM)(Desktop version) but cannot seem to open it from my desktop.
A: The Mediator(TM) shortcut on your desktop is obsolete. After downloading The Mediator(TM) go to Start > Programs > Paul Weyland Seminars > Mediator.
Q: I would like to purchase a handheld computer in order to use The Mediator(TM) and the Pocket Sales Manager. I cannot seem to get The Mediator(TM) to work with my Palm. What to do?
A: Our software products were developed using Windows-based development tools. To run our software tools, your handheld is required to have:
StrongARM 1100 processor
Microsoft Pocket PC 2002 V3.X
Memory for storing the program is 1.25MB
Running the program requires 1.78MB
Q: The Mediator(TM) does not seem to print or export. How am I supposed to show ROI to my client?
A: The current FREE version of The Mediator(TM) neither prints nor exports. The version was developed solely to work the ROI with the client's participation. The Professional version will be
released very soon and will include printing, exporting AND a proposal writer. Also included are several sample proposals.
